Willliam Dant is currently the North America representative of YFU's international Board. He has previously been on the YFU-USA national board of trustees, and currently continues his YFU volunteer service by serving as an area representative for YFU students and their US host families placed in his home area in Virginia.

"My career has been influenced by my exchange experience, working in many international education and exchange organizations as well as for the US State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the administration of US Peace Corps."

"My experience with youth exchange began through my own experience as an exchange student to France for a year, when I lived with a local family while attending courses in French and German language and literature at the University of Strasbourg, and later in Schwäbisch-Hall, Germany. My first post-university job was in volunteer service in the U.S. Peace Corps, where I taught in a rural middle school in the north of Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa for two years. My long relationship with YFU began in the mid-1980s, when I served as a volunteer for YFU’s launch of the Congress-Bundestag youth initiative between the United States and Germany, sitting on the US selection committee and assisting with student orientations. This experience soon led to me joining the staff of YFU-USA, where I worked for several years"
