Global Office Internship (ESC) - Educational Events Assistant

Youth For Understanding is looking for a dedicated European Solidarity Corps volunteer to join us in the Global Office in Brussels for one year!
The volunteer in this project will have the chance to enhance their organisational skills by supporting our educational activities as well as learn about long-term Intercultural Youth Exchanges worldwide, by being involved in the multiple actions related to the organisation of such experiences.
This experience will offer the selected volunteer the chance to get an insight into how a Global NGO operates and more specifically, into the project cycle of educational events and trainings, from the logistics & preparation to running the event and follow-up, including reimbursements and reporting. Since a lot of educational activities and courses moved to digital platforms, it is also a chance to get to know better the online events’ production side. The selected volunteer will have the opportunity to work also with other departments of the organisation, if deemed necessary, expanding their knowledge of different fields according to their professional interests.
Starting date: Preferably, you should be relocating to Brussels and ready to start during the month of February 2023, but this is negotiable. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis, therefore we encourage you to apply as fast as possible.

Tasks of the volunteer
Support the coordination of Educational Activities & Opportunities (both in-person and digital)
Support with putting together narrative and financial grant reports, according to the funders/organizations’ needs
Support the communication with participants and organisations regarding logistics of educational activities
Support in the implementation (including internal communication) of YFU’s educational events
Support with the follow-up of educational activities, including processing reimbursements and helping out with finalising the project outputs (e.g. manuals, digital tools, etc.)
Support the development of e-learning courses through helping to place them on the e-learning platform
Support with the smooth delivery of webinars and conferences (tech support role)
Support the coordination of the Youth Empowerment Seminar – the biggest event in YFU
Support organising the preparatory meetings
Support the Travel team of the YES 2022
Support with distributing students into housing
On-site support at the event which will require a 2-week relocation to Berlin (all costs covered by YFU)
Support the reimbursement and reporting process after the event
Support the quality assurance team in gathering important data for their analysis
Support with vendors, contracts and other orders needed for the YES
Logistical arrangements
The intern will be expected to be in the office on a full-time basis, 38h/week according to the Belgian law.
EEE-YFU will provide a monthly allowance of 900 euro + full medical insurance, which will enable you to secure accommodation and subsistence during your stay in Brussels. We will support you with helpful indications, but it will be your responsibility to secure these during your internship.
Travel to and from Brussels for relocation will be covered by the program. All travels and subsistence during assigned events will be fully covered.
The internship will last for 12 months.

- Between 18 and 30 years old National of one of the EU countries + Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein
